What makes our Club Different?
DSC Elite Basketball Academy is a club dedicated to player development first, above all else. We practice twice per week at all times throughout our seasons, and our practices consist of 1 hour of skill training and on court work, and 1 hour of team strength and conditioning. All practices are held at our private facility in San Clemente, DSC Performance and Physical Therapy.

Our program is built on these foundational beliefs about youth athletics:

1. Kids should WANT to go to practice

We strive to make practice/training a fun environment that kids look forward to going to.

2. Young athletes should be ENCOURAGED to play multiple sports

Playing multiple sports as a youth athlete has massive benefits such as enhancing coordination, preventing burnout, and minimizing chances of overuse injury. Not only do we strongly encourage our athletes to play multiple sports and take time away from basketball, we aid in their development for those sports through our built in strength and conditioning program.

3. Tournament play is utilized as PART of the player development formula

As a club, we play in 2 tournaments per month during our seasons. Tournament play is important for players to gain experience playing as a team, and learning how to respond to both winning and losing. It is utilized as part of the player development formula. Tournaments are played with the intention of teaching our athletes how to compete fearlessly, while showing respect to their opponents, coaches, and refs.

4. Coaching youth sports is a platform to show what it looks like to operate as a follower of Christ.

We believe exemplifying what it looks like to live for Christ through our words and actions is our most important duty as coaches. Athletics is an amazing avenue to teach about hard work, integrity, accountability, and treating others the way you'd want to be treated.
